Overview:

The Principal Security Architect is a key leader within the IT Security team, responsible for developing and communicating the enterprise security architecture vision and strategy. The ideal candidate will serve as a thought leader and force multiplier, driving continuous improvement in the company's security posture. The role involves the development, implementation, and maintenance of the overall cybersecurity architecture and will require a solid understanding of complex cyber network defense (CND) systems, the design of CND system architecture, the lifecycle of CND systems, and the continual research and implementation of new technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

End-Point Detection and Response (EDR): Design, implement, and maintain the enterprise-wide EDR system, monitoring and responding to critical security incidents and anomalies. Security Information and Event Management (SIEM): Architect and manage SIEM solutions, including log management and analysis, event correlation, and incident response. Drive improvement in signal detection, incident response times, and process efficiency. Web Application Firewalls (WAF): Develop and maintain security architecture for web application firewall technologies. Oversee implementation, configuration, and tuning of WAF rules. Firewalls: Architect, design, and oversee implementation and management of enterprise network firewall and IPS systems. Cloud Security: Drive the design and implementation of security architecture for cloud-based systems (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), ensuring secure integration into overall enterprise architecture. Lead efforts to ensure cloud environments align with industry best practices for security and compliance. On-Premises Security: Ensure secure design, deployment, and operation of on-premises systems. Provide security architecture guidance for on-premises system upgrades and migrations. AI Security: Research, design, and implement AI-based security tools and strategies. Drive innovation in automated threat detection and response. Overall Security Architecture: Develop, maintain, and communicate the enterprise security architecture, including the development of architectural patterns and guidelines. Ensure that all technology initiatives are adequately analyzed for security impact and controls.

Requirements

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. Or Equivalent work experience. Master’s degree or relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, SANS, etc.) are preferred. At least 10 years of experience in information technology, with a minimum of 5 years in an information security role and at least 3 years in a senior security architect role. Proven experience with EDR, SIEM, WAF, Firewalls, Cloud, On-Prem, and AI security systems. In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks like NIST, ISO 27001, etc. Demonstrated experience with security risk management, incident response, threat modeling, and security architectures. Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and team skills; the ability to communicate security and risk-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff. Excellent problem-solving and technical skills. Ability to work independently or with a team to meet tight deadlines. Willingness to stay updated with the latest advancements in technology and security.

Preferred

Understanding of programming languages for scripting and automation. Previous experience working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Experience in a large enterprise environment. Familiarity with privacy laws, data protection, and governance. The Principal Security Architect is a role that requires strategic thinking and detailed knowledge of the security field. This role is pivotal for influencing the direction of the company's cybersecurity strategy and serves as a key influencer, multiplier, and leader within the organization.
