University of Rochester Valve clinic/Structural heart team - Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in Rochester, New York

Responsibilities

This is a great opportunity for an experienced cardiac APP to join the multi-disciplinary structural heart team. This adult population is undergoing evaluation and intervention of structural heart disease (some examples include aortic stenosis, mitral stenosis, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, or closure of the left atrial appendage). Role involves both management and coordination of complex patient care. This role occurs in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. Other responsibilities include research and QA. It involves leading/coordinating new initiatives. This integral position will need an APP with cardiology experience and excellent communication, organizational and computer skills. Experience with the heart failure population is highly desired. This is a fast evolving field/department-therefore the right candidate will be flexible and innovative. In addition, there will be opportunities to precept students from various programs. Applicants must have 2-5 years recent relevant experience. Nurse practitioners must be NYS licensed and nationally certified. Physician assistants must have completed an AMA approved PA program, NYS licensure and national certification.

Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner

Requires a Master's Degree in Nursing or related field and an active New York State license in good standing. Applicants will have 5 years experience as an RN with one to three years of leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The Nurse Practitioner influences the quality and delivery of care in various roles including consultant, researcher, mentor, and practitioner. This role may be unit, program, or service based and is involved in continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Physician Assistant

Completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program, licensure in good standing, and certified as a Registered Physician Assistant. Demonstrated clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relation skills, computer competence and must have an active desire to learn. This role may be unit, program, or service based and is involved in continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $44.71- $67.07

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum annual salary for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations. Incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
