Job Description: TOPS DRIVER
Reports to: Supervisor, TOPS Day Program
Primary Responsibilities: Drive participants to and from program
Schedule: Part Time – 10 hours
Specific Responsibilities:
Drive participants five days a week to and from program with a program vehicle (SUV)
Follow all regulations for vehicle safety and program compliance
Provide direct support assistance for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities when they are in the vehicle
Help mediate any conflicts while in the vehicle
Represent TOPS program by acting courteous, respectful and remaining calm at all times, especially during difficult circumstances
Follow agency protocols if an automotive accident occurs
Participate in continuing education courses and trainings as mandated by state agencies and JFCS
Be a proactive team member
Qualifications:
High school diploma
Experience working with individuals with disabilities
Ability to interact with participants in a friendly and professional manner
Candidate must be empathetic, compassionate, patient, and be able to maintain a calm demeanor during stressful situations
Valid driver’s license, registration, insurance and good driving record
At least one year of job experience transporting passengers
