Summer Internship 2024-25 - Frazer Nash Australia

About Frazer-Nash in Australia:

Since our first Australian office in 2010, Frazer-Nash has rapidly expanded its presence across the nation with offices in Adelaide, Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney. Our commitment to growth and strong client relationships has made us an industry player across defence, nuclear, energy, transport and industry market sectors.

Looking for an extraordinary internship experience? Frazer-Nash offers 8-12 weeks’ internship employment tailored to engineering students who are currently in their penultimate year of undergraduate study. Running from December to February annually, our interns gain invaluable hands-on experience, working closely within engineering consulting team.

As part of the program, we will seek to allocate you to both an internal project supporting Frazer-Nash’s capability development and some targeted involvement on a client facing project. Previous interns have been involved in projects such as the evaluation of GIS software to determine its potential for use as part of a new Frazer-Nash service offering, and the management of complex requirements through interfacing with client-side design teams on a significant rail infrastructure program.

An internship with Frazer-Nash will allow you to benefit from stimulating and meaningful work supported by a depth of engineering talent. As an intern, you will have the chance to improve your knowledge, skills and enhance your personal development through the exposure to multiple industries.

*Internship positions are casual opportunities available in our Adelaide, Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney offices.

Why work with us?

When you join Frazer-Nash you become part of a dynamic community of exceptional professionals. Our culture fosters collaboration, innovation, and the courage to challenge conventional thinking. We are dedicated to supporting our colleagues and clients alike though making the best of our collective knowledge and experience.

At Frazer-Nash we work across Defence, Rail, Infrastructure and Energy market sectors. We provide engineering knowledge to our clients to understand and define user needs and requirements, influence the design, operation, and maintenance of complex systems to ensure that technical risks are identified, communicated, and managed in timely manner and the safety of those using or relying on the system is not compromised.

We have built a reputation for excellent Systems Engineering and Systems Assurance (Systems Safety) delivery through our work across most major transport infrastructure programs throughout Australia. We are currently involved in multiple aspects of the Melbourne Metro Tunnel project, the Melbourne city-wide Level Crossing Removal Program, and the delivery of the Morley to Ellenbrook Line in WA, to name a few.

We are at the forefront of the nuclear industry within Australia, helping Australia develop its critical maritime infrastructure to accommodate nuclear powered submarines under the AUKUS agreement. We are also supporting the process that will provide a constructible design for the handling of radioactive waste for key players in the Australian nuclear industry. We have been critical to the development of deliverables, including seismic assessment; the nuclear safety case; and providing valuable insight on nuclear regulation and radiological shielding.

Meanwhile, our energy business sees us reviewing the power mix to produce green hydrogen, while also helping existing generators increase efficiency whilst they transition to more renewable sources. Within the digital space, we are developing machine learning and AI approaches to answer asset management questions that exist within electrical network distribution systems.

  • Currently in your penultimate year of an accredited engineering related undergraduate degree
