West Virginia Employer Radiology Technician in Williamson, West Virginia

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Refer to state and local regulations. Associated degree or applied science degree in radiography, nuclear medicine technology, radiation therapy, or related field. Bachelor of Science degree preferred. Certificate from an accredited MRI tech program. MRI accrediting organizations include American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (AMRIT), Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT), or the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAJEP). Advanced-level certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) in computed tomography or have one of the following qualifications: *State licensure that permits them to perform diagnostic CT exams and documented training on the provision of diagnostic CT exams *Registration and certification in radiography by ARRT and documented training on the provision of diagnostic CT exams *Certification in nuclear medicine technology by ARRT or NMTCB and documented training on the provision of diagnostic CT exams -Minimum one (1) year experience and training in CT/MRI. -Current BLS certification. Knowledge and understanding of general anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. Possesses a high level of knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy. Proficiency with most major MRI/CT equipment manufacturers hardware and software (GE, Siemens, Picker). _PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Completes annual education requirements. Maintains regulatory requirements. Consistently completes and maintains assigned duties; maintains PAR levels. Attends annual review and department in services, as scheduled. Maintains hospital requirements, policies, and standards on confidentiality. Knowledgeable of local fire and safety regulations. Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices. _NATURE OF WORK: Performs a variety of imaging procedures, including CT/MRI procedures, and is responsible for patient safety protocols. Functions as the first line interface with customers in the successful accomplishment of their imaging needs. Participates in CQI activities.
