McLaren Health Care Academic Program Administrator I - McLaren Careers in Port Huron, Michigan

The

Academic Program Administrator I is a member of the Graduate Medical Education

(GME) team that provides oversight and personnel management to ensure the

success of academic programs.

Utilizes

and applies standards of accreditation agencies and/or medical schools.

Academic functions include recruitment, orientation, establishing and

maintaining academic files, rotation scheduling, evaluations, duty hours,

scheduling lectures, graduation, proctoring national exams and

inspections.

Work requires use of multiple

electronic systems for candidate applications.

Works with indirect supervision utilizing independent judgement within

the scope of responsibilities.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Performs functions in academicprograms, such as, assisting with program development, tracking,implementation, evaluation, and providing and maintaining medicalstudent/resident services for Medical Education, including orientation,graduation, housing assignments, lockers, pagers, meal cards, evaluations,schedules, in-service examinations, training verifications andapplications.

  2. Develops and maintains uniqueknowledge regarding the Accreditation Council for Graduate MedicalEducation (ACGME) and program requirements, policies and procedures thatare critical to support theGMEprogram.

  3. Functions as a liaison toeducational consortia affiliated with the training program.

  4. Directs collection of data forsubmission to accrediting bodies and other regulatory agencies, includingall accreditation visits and inspections of the GME program.

  5. Prepares and submits requiredquarterly, semi-annual, and annual documentation for medical educationand/or accreditation agencies.

  6. Negotiates with other institutionsto secure required educational experiences for resident.

  7. Participates in the development andimplementation of appropriate manuals, policies, and procedures.

  8. Corresponds with newly matchedresidents about requirements and process for appointment to the hospitals.Assists with quota review and rank list entry and certification in NRMP(National Residency Matching Program).

  9. Provides onboarding assistance fornew residents in partnership with human resources. – no New Innovations

  10. Provide financial oversight ofprogram budget in partnership with department leaders.

  11. Other duties asassigned or when necessary to maintain efficient operations of thedepartment and the Company as a whole.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associatedegree in health care administration, business or related field.

OR

  • Combinationof one year of education and one year of experience in related field.

PreferredQualifications:

  • Bachelor’sdegree in health care administration, business or related field.

  • Experiencein healthcare setting and medical education
