About this role:

Carrier is seeking a General Legal Real estate and Corporate Counsel to support Carrier’s real estate facilities management, and procurement organizations in negotiation with and contract management of critical vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting Carrier’s real estate organization in the negotiation and interpretation of real estate documents for the Carrier real property portfolio.

• Support spans across North America, and includes leases, subleases, construction agreements, purchase and sale agreements, licenses, estoppels, subordination and non-disturbance agreements, covenants, conditions and restrictions, letters of intent, consent letters, easements, and other related agreements.

• Providing due diligence support on mergers and acquisitions, procurement, and divestiture matters.

• Managing certificates of insurance processing requests for Carrier’s real estate portfolio.

• Assisting in the resolution of disputes with suppliers, landlords, tenants, and vendors.

• Supporting supply chain and environmental, health & safety (“EH&S”) legal counsel, as needed.

• Conducting research related to specific legal topics including preparation of presentation.

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams including finance, risk management, supply chain, and EH&S representatives as needed to finalize contracts, resolve disputes, and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

• Maintaining legal knowledge and providing clients with information on developments and important changes in applicable laws and regulations impacting Carrier’s real estate portfolio.

Required Qualifications:

• Undergraduate Degree

• Juris Doctorate Degree

• 5 years of experience in a corporate legal department or law firm.

• 2 + years of experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts

Preferred Qualifications:

• Excellent analytical and communication skills and business knowledge necessary to develop contracting solutions that protect Carrier's interests.

• Working knowledge of insurance concepts related to commercial and real estate contracts.

• Ability to work independently and exercise sound business and legal judgment.

• Ability to influence and work effectively with business representatives.

• Experience drafting and negotiating real estate contracts.
