Penguin Random House Manager, National Accounts - (Tri-State Area) in New York, New York

The National Account Manager will be responsible for selling and managing title base, promotions, and business relationships at Target and its supporting vendor Readerlink for the titles across the Penguin Adult and Knopf Doubleday Adult imprints.

Responsibilities:

• Preparing, researching, and presenting all relevant titles, all backlist titles, and special promotions to accounts.

• Optimizing all frontlist and backlist opportunities through in-store and online promotions.

• Maintaining accurate and responsible co-op pool.

• Daily maintenance of account orders and merchandising

• Representing all Penguin Adult and Knopf Doubleday imprints to Target and its supporting vendors in a professional, sales-oriented manner.

• Attending regular meetings including, but not limited to weekly staff meetings, imprint launch, strategy, weekly marketing meetings and sales conference meetings and consistently providing feedback on account performance.

• Meeting with Target and supporting vendors on a regular basis, to sell frontlist and backlist, to gather feedback on sell-through, account news and other industry related information.

• Collaborating with publishers on opportunities that are unique to the account.

• Analyzing and reporting on a weekly and ad-hoc basis market trends and insights.

Requirements:

• Strong organization skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment

• Ability to work well under pressure and be proactive

• Excel at working within a collaborative team environment

• Minimum of 3 years of prior experience selling in an account facing role

• Strong follow up skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Teams, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

• Ability to travel up to 10% by car, train, or plane within the domestic U.S.

• Previous sales experience in publishing

The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $73,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to company results.

The salary range listed is specific to each particular open position and takes into account various factors including the specifics of the individual role, and candidate's relevant experience and qualifications.
