West Virginia Employer Production Operator 1 in Millwood, West Virginia

The Production Operator is under the direction of the Shift Lead/Production Supervisor and will primarily operate various machines and equipment involved in production. Essential Functions: Operates production machinery in accordance with the Structured Job Training (SJT) document. Assigned equipment may include Blender, Screener, Bagger, Shedders, Granulators, Bulk-In and Out, and Unloaders. Produces the required output within established specifications and tolerances. Measures finished product ensuring compliance with function, quality, and aesthetic specifications. Maintains good housekeeping and clean work areas in assigned area. Maintains logs and records of material produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected or substandard material. Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment. Assists fellow operators to achieve maximum productivity and minimize turnaround time. Required Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred Education & Experience: Operator Certification or associate degree 1-3 years experience working in a manufacturing environment. Fork truck license. Required Skills and Abilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Understand and adhere to all plant safety guidelines. Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions. Ability to become certified as fork truck driver. Ability to use a keyboard and learn applicable computer software programs. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Physical Requirements: Lift up to 80 lbs. at waist level, up to 80 lbs. at floor level, and up to 40 lbs. at elevated level on a rare basis when moving products. Display average coordination with both hands on a continuous basis while performing job tasks. Perform elevated work on an occasional basis when handling products. Stoop, kneel or squat on an occasional basis when handling products. Reach forward and to the side on an occasional basis when handling products. Stand on a continuous basis and walk on a frequent basis during the course of each shift. Climb steps on an occasional basis. Able to perform repetitive tasks up to 12 hours per shift.
