Environmental Technician
Nammo Defense Systems Inc., a defense contractor, manufactures and supports shoulder-fired systems; energetic material solutions such as aircraft emergency escape systems, actuation devices, rocket motors, warheads, medium & large caliber ammunitions, mortar ammunition; and composite solutions including carbon fiber tubes and composite aero-structures.

Job Description:
• Transports, stores and packages waste; labels and ships offsite as well as maintains drum and other container inventory.
• Daily pick-ups of hazardous, non-hazardous, and energetic waste site wide.
• Inspects hazardous and universal waste containers for regulatory compliance and hazardous waste profile conformance on a weekly basis.
• Assist with hazardous waste determinations and waste profiling.
• General knowledge of regulatory compliance with OSHA, DOT, RCRA, DoD 4145.26M, and DoD 5100.76M regulations and other federal, state, county and city regulations and codes preferred.
• Will assess site and working conditions to ensure waste management practices are met.
• Prepare written reports and procedures and work closely with other health, environmental, safety and security staff and consultants.
• Weekly, monthly, quarterly environmental compliance inspections.
• Will support hazard analysis activities and implementing environmental improvements.
• Will assist and escort to environmental contractors and consultants as needed.
• Equipment PMs
• Sustain 5S standards.
• Other duties as required.
Job Requirements:
• Experience in chemical, manufacturing, or explosives industries preferred.
• Proficient working knowledge of all MS Office Suite products.
• DOT Hazmat and RCRA HAZWOPER certifications (may be completed after hire).
• Ability to prepare comprehensive written reports.
• Excellent speaking and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of industrial work processes, material handling techniques, and proper management of hazardous materials.
• Ability to obtain Security Clearance and ATF approval to handle products.
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver’s license by the time of hire.
• HAZWOPER yearly certification must be maintained/renewed throughout employment (employer-paid).
Working Conditions:
Must be able to work in indoor and outdoor environments. Must have the manual dexterity of hands and body to operate office equipment, motor vehicles, hiking/walking in varied terrain outdoors. Must be able to manage frequent interruptions, high work volumes, multiple tasks, team-oriented activities and prompt decision-making. Must constantly maintain concentration, accuracy, ethical behavior, and a professional demeanor. Must be able to file and lift/carry/push and/or pull 50 lbs.
Education:
Must possess high school diploma or GED.
