Summary

Attends to the medication needs of the patient through oversight of automation that ensures optimal medication use and effective resource management for the department and the healthcare system. Works in collaboration with health care team members to accomplish goals. Maintain core competencies in pharmacy. Maintain job specific competencies as required. Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Requirements, Preferences and Experience

Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.).

Clinical knowledge and at least one year of direct hospital-based pharmacy experience or the equivalent.

Two years in active practice in hospital pharmacy

At least one year of informatics experience or the equivalent

Informatics Certification Preferred but not required.

Advanced communication skills and computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and pharmacy operating systems. High-level cognitive ability to interpret and assess written medication orders to ensure optimal medication use. Teaching skills and qualified to precept residents, students, interns and externs as needed.

Membership with state and/or national hospital pharmacy associations encouraged.
