Position Summary

The Store Development Architect will foster, revise, maintain and manage all prototypical information utilized in the creation of Prototypical Store Development Documentation using both current and future technologies. This information will consist of drawings, specifications, training materials and other aids that may be required during the construction permitting process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Director of Pre-Construction in the development of clear, concise methods for the implementation of all documentation.

  • Creates both basic prototypical as well as enhanced documentation for all active store configurations.

  • Works closely with outside consultants in the development of their information to insure compatibility with documents being created internally.

  • Develops automated routines to assist the end users in selecting variations or options available for individual drawings.

  • Works with the IT Group to create, revise, and manage the current AZ Build program used to create construction drawings.

  • Manages the database of drawing files utilized in the production of both prototype building plans as well as remodel plans in network locations for use by others.

  • Develops procedures for the utilization, importation and updating of electronic information from other departments within the Company.

  • Develops automated routines to facilitate the insertion one time of information that needs to appear on multiple drawings.

  • Assists staff in understanding all pertinent aspects of the programs utilized to run and produce the prototype documents.

  • Reviews and keeps Director of Pre-Construction informed of changes or advancements in the technologies that may impact the way business is conducted.

  • Prepares and distributes Design Alert memos and details as required.

  • Supervises subordinates if and as staff is added.

  • Maintains all old or replaced files and drawings in separate archive directories.

  • Reviews all construction drawings prior to the bidding process to ensure the drawings reflect all requirements and are correctly documented.

  • Provides technical interpretations of information to all members of the Store Development teams when required.

  • Communicates with and provide technical assistance to the Fixture Set-up and Store Maintenance groups as required

    Education and/or Experience

    The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7+ years’ work experience in ground-up store development, construction, or architectural related fields along with an understanding of the real estate development process and should reflect ever-increasing areas of knowledge and responsibility.

    Applicant should have a working knowledge of AutoCAD.

    United states architectural licensure required
