Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Lansing, Michigan

Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk in the manufacturing industry, located in Lansing, Michigan. As the Accounts Payable Clerk, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, processing payments, and handling invoices. You will be working with a team and using your skills in accounts payable and MS Excel to ensure the smooth running of our financial operations.

Responsibilities

• Handle and file purchase orders with precision

• Match invoices to orders and payments to ensure accuracy

• Prepare and code invoices for payments, ensuring all data is correct

• Maintain and manage detailed records of all accounting processes

• Exhibit strong organization skills and attention to detail in all tasks

• Collaborate effectively with the team to achieve common goals

• Utilize your knowledge of accounting processes to optimize operations

• Use MS Excel to manage and analyze data effectively

• Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies with invoices or payments

• Monitor and follow up on any late payments to ensure financial fluidity. Requirements • Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.

• Proven working experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk in the manufacturing industry.

• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles.

• Proficiency in English and in MS Office, particularly MS Excel.

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet and professional manner.

• Demonstrated ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize work.

• Excellent data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Familiarity with relevant legal and regulatory requirements as well as standard procedures and practices in the accounts payable function.

• Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information.

• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
