Citigroup Country HR Senior Manager (CHRO & Banking) - C13 - Pakistan in Karachi, Pakistan

The Country HR Officer (CHRO) for Pakistan & Banking is accountable for management of complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas within Pakistan. Requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple disciplines within HR and how they interact in order to achieve the objectives of the function. Commercial awareness is a necessity. Generally accountable for delivery of a full range of HR services to employees in Pakistan. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication is necessary. Exercises control over resources, policy formulation and planning.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides a broad range of HR consulting services to client groups within Pakistan, including advice on talent acquisition, managing talent (assessment, development and redeployment), compensation processes, organization effectiveness (change management, leader effectiveness, performance management, coaching, organization design), employee engagement (communications, employee relations, facilitation of rewards and recognition, employee benefits), change management to support constant transformation and provides HR input on internal and external audits.

  • Applies thorough knowledge of HR principles and local employment law to resolve issues.

  • Partners with other HR disciplines teams based around Citi’s footprint globally and with business and functional leaders to assess and define the appropriate strategy, organization structure, and role design for business groups within Pakistan.

  • Attracts and retains high potential talent by helping to define and establish career paths within Pakistan. Supports the development and amplification of a Citi Pakistan employee value proposition.

  • Coaches and develops leaders in successful performance management activities and upgrading talent.

  • Acts as the primary contact on all HR matters to the Pakistan regulatory bodies.

  • Is an active member of the Citi Country Committee (CCC).

  • Provides support to the HR Head of Middle East & Pakistan (MEP) & Banking HR Lead on an ad hoc basis and is a member of the MEP HR Leadership team.

  • Is part of a group of CHROs within the 29 countries across the Middle East & Africa cluster with opportunity to work on pan-cluster initiatives

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of experience

Education:

  • Bachelors/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
