Position Summary:

Performs neurodiagnostic tests on adolescent, adult and elderly patients. Performs standard and complex electroencephalograms (EEG), evoked potentials (EP), nerve conduction studies (NCS) at the patient’s bedside in the operating room and in the laboratory. Other monitoring procedures will include Long Term Monitoring (LTM), the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU), and intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring (IONM). Provide high quality, cost effective care in a professional, kind and compassionate manner to all patients in a safe, timely and effective manner while maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to hospital and departmental mission statements and policies. Provide education to patients and their families, co‐workers and physicians concerning neurodiagnostic testing.

Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform accurate standard and complex EEG recordings at the bedside and in the laboratory on a routine, emergency and on‐call basis to adolescent, adult and elderly patients

  • Attend all hospital required in‐services, adhere to departmental and hospital policies and procedures, Participates in hospital and departmental goals and objectives

  • Maintain and clean equipment and laboratory area on a daily basis

  • Assist with delivering reports and transporting patients to and from the laboratory, as needed as well as any other job related duties as assigned

  • Enhance professional growth and development through educational programs, current literature, Workshops and conferences

  • Assist physicians in the diagnosis of diseases and disorders of the brain and central nervous system through the provision of neurodiagnostic testing

  • Assist the supervisor in daily lab operations and assist in the training of staff

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Licensure:

  • High School Diploma/GED

  • Successful completion of an educational program for Neurodiagnostics (EEG) by an accredited program or on the job training

  • CPR certification within 6 months of hire

  • Two registries recognized by American Board of Registration Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET)

Minimum Experience:

  • Five (5) years of experience

Pay Range

$23.87 - $32.82 /hour
