OEC Group Claims Coordinator in Guadalajara, Mexico

 

Summary:

Directs and coordinates activities involving claims against OEC Group for shortages in or damaged freight and private property damages by performing the following duties.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Investigate claims to ascertain validity of claims and extent of company liability.

  • Processes freight and property claims for which company is liable and submits claims to head office for settlement, or negotiates settlement with claimant and authorizes payment.

  • Testifies at court hearings to present evidence on company liability from investigation documents.

  • Communicate with customers, insurance companies, surveyors, and others regarding claim status and claim-related matters.

  • Tracks and maintains record of legal cases and claims to evaluate the relevance.

    Work Schedule:

  •  Guadalajara Offices 8:00 am-5:00 pm CST (M-F)

    Qualifications:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 1-3 or more years of experience in claims adjusting

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Maintains strict confidentiality

  • Highly organized and proven ability to multi-task

  • Basic knowledge of Windows applications and Microsoft Office (MS Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

  • Computer Skills:  To perform this job successfully, an individual should have experience with Microsoft Office.

    Education & Experience:

  • It is required that the candidate has an Associate's degree.

  • It is preferred that the candidate has a minimum of 1-3 years of experience .

    Physical Demands & Work Environment:

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk, hear and type.  The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. The passage of employees through the work area is average and normal.
