Job Title: Product Manager

Department: Information Technology

FLSA: Exempt

General Function

Lead member of the product owner team. Helps build the product vision and future for vertical space applications. Assists with developing business cases for new feature and product concepts. Determines customers' need by specifying the research needed to obtain relevant market information. Supports delivery teams in defining product requirements. Acts as a liaison between product teams and business units. Enables product owners to grow and deliver value and continued growth to Hy-Vee.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads roadmap development strategy for the vertical product domain.

  • Collaborates with internal teams (senior leadership, development, communications, finance, marketing, legal, etc.) to help teams go-to-market strategies and execute overall product vision for new products and enhancing existing products.

  • Assist with prioritizing projects deemed critical across the entire organization by helping manage to top priorities across teams competing for resources.

  • Help establish metrics to monitor overall product health and provide product enhancement recommendations.

  • Identify market opportunities and define product vision and strategy.

  • Employee development including ongoing coaching, mentoring and leading semi-annual performance reviews for Product Owners.

  • Ability to mentor Product Owners with some support

  • Drives future discovery and project direction across the org.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics

  • Extensive experience in managing products through all phases of an agile product life cycle, including concept, definition, planning, development and implementation.

  • Ability and desire to work in fast-paced, fast growth environment and can handle multiple projects and tasks on a daily basis.

Education and Experience:

A bachelor degree is preferred, or relevant experience.

Supervisory Responsibilities (Direct Reports):

Responsibility for instructing, assigning work, reviewing work, planning work of others, maintaining standards and coordinating activities.

Physical Requirements:

  • Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near range with or without correction.

  • Must be physically able to perform sedentary work: operating a computer, occasionally lifting or carrying objects of no more than 10 pounds, and occasionally standing or walking.

  • Must be able to perform the following physical activities: meeting with customers, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

Working Conditions:

The duties for this position are performed in a general or remote office setting. There is weekly pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a day.

Equipment Used to Perform Job:

Laptop and desktop computer, telephone, copier, Fax, printer, PC with Microsoft Office programs and other software relevant to specific position.
