PNC Quantitative Analytics & Model Development Consultant Sr in Cleveland, Ohio

As a Quantitative Analytics & Model Development Consultant Senior within PNC's Balance Sheet, Analytics & Monitoring (BSAM) organization, you can be based in a PNC Hub market. This position is primarily based in a PNC location. Responsibilities require time in the office or in the field on a regular basis.  Some responsibilities may be performed remotely, at manager’s discretion.

This position is responsible for the implementing and maintaining of fraud models that support our retail and commercial businesses. This position requires experiences and knowledge of: model implementation and testing, big data structuring and computation; data source investigations; process optimization. You will work closely with the fraud model development members, business partners across different lines of business, data infrastructure and production system managers. You will frequently be required to present your work to peers, senior PNC executives and regulators.

Preferred Requirements include:

• Solid experience in coding with Python, PySpark or other “big data” applications (e.g Hadoop, AWS, DataRobot, etc.).

• Comfortable on handling large scale data and identify potential data issues

• Experiences on model implementations and user-acceptance-tests

• Excellent written and communication skills, both in technical and nontechnical

• Being a collaborative team player and has the ability to work under tight timelines

• A self-starter with an a desire to learn and knowledge of continuous improvement/optimization

• PhD or Masters in a quantitative field

A strong applicant will have experience in:

• Strong programming skills with experiencing on developing implementation packages/libraries

• Relevant experience in at least one area of Credit Risk Banking / Fraud Crimes/ Anti-money laundering / Technology / Data infrastructure

• Familiar with Machine Learning models and Model Development Lifecycle

Job Description

  • Independently performs the most complex quantitative analyses and models development to support decision-making by running quantitative strategies.

  • Develops new model frameworks by supporting the line of business. Refines, monitors, and validates existing models. Conducts on-going communication with model owners and model developers during the course of the review. Works with large data to create models.

  • Performs the most complex qualitative and quantitative assessments on all aspects of models including theoretical aspects, model design and implementation as well as data quality and integrity. Reviews reports and associated quantitative analysis. Validates existing models and assesses model risks.

  • Evaluates identified model risks and reaches conclusions on strengths and limitations of the model.

  • Prepares and analyzes detailed documents for validation and regulatory compliance, using applicable templates.

Quantitative Techniques – Knowledge of and ability to use quantitative tools and techniques to measure and analyze risks.

Regulatory Environment - Financial Services – Knowledge of and ability to help an organization adapt to applicable federal, state, local, and company-specific regulations, policies, and guidelines affecting business practices.

Testing – Knowledge of and ability to plan, implement and manage testing strategies, policies and practices that assure the delivery of high quality applications.

Work Experience

Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree. Higher level education such as a Masters degree, PhD, or certifications is desirable. Industry relevant experience is typically 8+ years. Specific certifications are often required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
