Michelman Manager, Global Marketing - Fibers & Composites in Cincinnati, Ohio

General Summary

We have a great opportunity available for a Global Marketing Manager to join the Fibers and Composites (F&C) group. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the global growth strategy and major growth programs globally for the F&C industry segment. This role uniquely combines strategic marketing with project, portfolio and product management responsibilities to create a sustainable advantage for Michelman. Through collaboration with the technology team, you will understand the unmet needs and develop solutions that will create value for Michelman and our industry partners and customers. By engaging with colleagues around the world, you will help address specific growth opportunities and expand our market position worldwide.

Primary Responsibilities

Target Market Development

  • Play an active role, working with technical and functional team members, in the development of strategic plans for the Composites and Technical Textile segments consistent with the group and company global strategy standards

  • Establish and monitor segment pricing strategy, and perform required analysis to improve business performance

  • Identify, qualify, and prioritize strategic market opportunities

  • Conduct primary market research through VOC collection at key customers and other influencers to refine the strategy

  • Build value chain analysis, including relationships with key players and members of the industry ecosystems

  • Develop competitive and technology landscape, mapping Michelman’s competitive position, advantage, and strategy

  • Develop and execute business plans for growing the Michelman business around the world

  • Actively support the global R&D and Sales teams to drive market development strategy

Market-Driven New Product Development and Commercialization

  • Contribute to, manage and lead Growth and New Product Development projects which can include, work plan development, managing timelines and deliverables; communicating updates and holding the team accountable to commitments

  • Primary contact for any product and market information requested by all global associates, providing guidance and suggestions on product selection and positioning

  • Evaluate market-driven opportunities for fit and ability to win and collaborate with R&D to develop next generation product concepts that solve unmet needs of the marketplace

  • Develop business cases, value propositions, and pricing strategy as marketing collateral to help drive business growth

  • Plan, execute, and support new product commercial launches

  • Actively work with Sales, Customers, Target Customers, Technical Institutes and others in the ecosystem

  • Actively work within industry associations to understand the trends and other relevant events, participating in conference calls and trade shows as necessary

  • Identify, develop and maintain relationships with key institutes and universities that align and support our strategies

  • Enlist partner customers for new product and technology introduction

Demand-side Marketing

  • Promotion of Michelman solutions, identify sales opportunities, and work with sales and Business Development to commercialize new products

  • Work with Global Marketing Director and Strategic Communications group to develop advertising, promotion and other strategies to position Michelman for success

  • Identify and engage key buying influencers in target markets

Other

  • Perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates

  • Willingness to travel globally around 25% of the time

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Science or Engineering

  • Advanced business degree preferred

  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience in the Composite, Textile or Materials industry

  • At least five (5) years of B2B marketing experience in the Textile or Composite industry with notable progression of responsibilities

  • Proven track record of launching new growth programs and delivering results

  • Strong network of contacts in Textile or Composite industry

Work Hours

Michelman’s standard work hours for this role is Monday – Friday from 8am – 5pm EST.
