PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

This role is part of the GCF Global Incubation CoE which supports incubation deals covering Concur, Callidus and OEM / PMC LoBs. The GCF Global Incubation CoE is a critical pillar within the Global Commercial Finance (GCF) Cloud CoE, which provides first and second level support for cloud deals. The team offers great learning and development opportunities from best-in-class cloud businesses.

The Senior Commercial Finance Specialist supports cloud products such as Callidus from the early stages of the deal structuring through the setup of the deal in the system and the contract stage.

The major areas of responsibility are:

  1. As part of Global Incubation CoE, you will serve as a trusted advisor providing value added advisory services to the field to drive deal structuring and provide directions and support to the Callidus/ Concur Team in the early stages of the sales cycle to help them maximize value and minimize risks.

  2. Lead deal support across multi-functional internal teams, (Commercial Business-Partners, Rev Rec, Finance, Legal) on complex deal scenarios

  3. As part of the Support team, assist the Callidus / Concur as they execute the Quote to Cash process

  4. This role would cover cloud deals and the scope of coverage may span multiple regions. Apart from direct deal support, the role would also involve guiding other team members and teams as a Level 2 support member.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

  1. Support the activities of the Global Incubation CoE to maximize contract value, minimize booking / revenue recognition issues and facilitate rapid deal closure

  2. Work with account teams on deal strategies that helps meet customer needs

  3. Strategize / brainstorm on optimum deal structures

  4. Perform compliance checks

  5. Analyze and provide creative recommendations on non-standard items

  6. Liaise with key stakeholder groups e.g. commercial business partners to resolve key deal issues

  7. Share best practices and lessons learned and leverage them for future enhancements

  8. Assist in monitoring/preparing Deal Desk KPI reports

  9. Review quote setup in Harmonyto mirror the deal structure

  10. Provide guidance on the deal approval process to help accelerate the cycle

  11. Provide guidance at booking stage if needed

  12. Drive commercial enablement efforts to upskill the sales teams and commercial finance teams

  13. Willingness and flexibility to support the business during periods of increased volume (such as quarter-end)

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  1. University degree in Commerce/Business from a secondary institution or comparable experience

  2. Experience in either field sales or field sales support related roles

  3. Prior experience with one or more solutions in SAPs Cloud Solutions portfolio is a plus

  4. Previous SAP Sales or Sales Operations Finance experience is preferred

  5. Strong analytical capabilities and process thinking

  6. Project management skills as an advantage

  7. Proven ability to work in a virtual team environment

  8. Decision making Demonstrates accountability and commitment by preparing decision making process

  9. Highly motivated, can do attitude and result oriented

  10. Strong team player experienced in working with virtual and international teams

  11. Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills

  12. Excellent in English, both written and verbal

WORK EXPERIENCE

  1. 5 years as an Operations / Financial & Business analyst/specialist

  2. 5 years of experience in a Deal Support / Contracting / Order Management functions is an added advantage, highly desired

  3. Prior field experience with SAP Cloud Solutions offerings

  4. Experience in SAPs CRM, Harmony and other internal systems
