Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The following duties are customary for this position, but are not to be construed as all-inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted, and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs.

  • Supports the advising policies and initiatives of the University

  • Advises students for majors within one of WKU's five academic colleges

  • Works with students, faculty, staff across the campus community to improve advising practices for 1st and 2nd year students

  • Assists in planning of advising activities for Topper Orientation Program (TOP)

  • Participates in the pre-registration program for incoming freshmen

  • Advises students based on 5th Week Check-In assessment

  • Provides proactive advising, interventions, and referrals as necessary

  • Works with Career Coaches to help students create an academic/career plan that ensures student success

  • Maintains advising records and databases

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Prior experience providing customer support *

Salary: $31,000
