Amazon Sr. Technical Program Manager, Infra Supply Chain Automation in Austin, Texas

Are you interested in building the next generation Supply Chain Management (SCM) systems that power the AWS cloud? The SCM Inventory team is responsible for building the warehouse management systems that enable control of our global inventory footprint for our hyper-growth cloud and automate the orchestration required to ensure physical and financial control of inventory. The team is responsible for billions of dollars in capital and the ultimate success of our core cloud business.

We are looking for experienced engineers who are excited about building industry leading, next generation SCM systems for the AWS cloud on the AWS cloud. You will be part of the team that architects, designs, and implements highly scalable distributed systems that provide availability, scalability and latency guarantees.

This is a unique and rare opportunity to get in on the ground floor and help shape the cloud WMS and SCM technology, product and business. The right person will demonstrate proven track of software delivery and good management experience to manage numerous stakeholders and ambiguous processes; understand how to evaluate control effectiveness; understand potential risks and how to address them; provide in-depth consultation; be able to deliver high priority projects; and have the ability to prioritize mitigation efforts using risk management concepts.

Key job responsibilities

  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience.

  • Experience managing technical programs across cross-functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules.

  • Experience in driving requirements and process improvements through customers collaboration.

  • Experience owning/driving roadmaps across teams.

  • Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design.

  • Support business and stakeholders by seeking out opportunities to simplify and automate metrics and reporting.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • 3+ years of software development experience

  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
