Summary

Responsibilities*

This position is responsible for the evaluation and treatment of patients with spine, and general orthopedic complaints to relieve pain, develop or restore function and maintain maximum performance, using physical modalities and exercise as prescribed by a physician.

Required Qualifications*

  • Master's or DPT degree in physical therapy or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.

  • The ideal candidate would have 2-5 years or more of outpatient orthopedic experience with a strong interest in teamwork and collaboration.

  • Satisfactory completion of an internship program is necessary.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in patient treatment is necessary.

  • Possession of a current state license to practice physical therapy in Michigan is necessary.

  • Experience with Ortho/Spine is required.

Graduate Non-Certified Patient Care Technician (Underfill) Qualifications:

  • Post-Graduate learning as applicable and actively pursuing the appropriate certification/registration/licensure for their profession is required.

Desired Qualifications*

General orthopedic/Spine outpatient experience or Orthopedic Residency program completion is preferred.

Licensure & Certification

Possession of a current state license to practice physical therapy in Michigan is necessary.

Work Schedule

Day shift Monday through Friday.

This position is included in the bargaining unit represented by the United Michigan Medicine Allied Professionals (UMMAP), which represents bargaining unit members in all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.
